Yakov (Jacob) Niyazov, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist and Principal Investigator at Sunshine Research Clinical Trials in Coral Gables, Florida. He specializes in conducting and overseeing clinical trials, with a focus on psychiatric conditions, ensuring rigorous study execution, patient safety, and regulatory compliance across all phases of research.

Dr. Niyazov completed his psychiatry residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, where he served as Chief Resident Physician. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Ross University School of Medicine and holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Hunter College (CUNY), graduating cum laude. His clinical training and leadership roles have provided a strong foundation in evidence-based psychiatric care and clinical research.

In addition to his role as Principal Investigator, Dr. Niyazov has extensive experience in both clinical practice and research operations, including positions as a psychiatrist and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) provider, investigator in clinical trials, and senior clinical research coordinator. He has contributed to numerous Phase II and III studies across a range of therapeutic areas, bringing a comprehensive understanding of trial design, patient evaluation, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Dr. Niyazov is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and an active member of the American Psychiatric Association. Fluent in English and Russian, he works closely with diverse patient populations and research teams to advance clinical innovation and improve patient outcomes.
